Tesla Model X
The Tesla Model X was Tesla’s proof of their engineering prowess and the high price tag put this generation of Tesla vehicles firmly into the luxury, “aspirational” vehicle category.
The Model X had incredible power and quickness for a family SUV, seating 5 while still going 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. The most notable feature, however, were the Falcon Wing doors which give the car an iconic silhouette when they are open. Packed with sensors and software, the doors were spatially-aware and would adjust their opening motion to avoid nearby obstacles.
Discontinuation
Tesla announced the Model S and Model Y would be discontinued in April 2026, claiming they were making space in their manufacturing lines for the Tesla Optimus robot.
